There is another way in which it is Right and Proper to be able to "cut
through the bull" so to speak. It is in relation to improper relationships and
connections to others.
Early in our journey, Father explained the following as a necessary condition
to progress in our Walk with Him:
You must sever your endearment
to those who would bind your process to theirs.
Even though we did not understand it at that time, Father was Giving us
foundational KNowledge that would facilitate our capacity to walk in
Respect.
Sever:
- to cut
- to break off; dissolve, as a relationship or tie
Endear:
- to make dear or beloved
- to make higher in price
bind:
- to tie or fasten with a band or chord
- to constrain or obligate, as by moral authority
- to subject to a definite legal obligation
- to constipate
- to make stiff or hard
The reference to constipation and stiffening / hardening (as in arthritis and
hardening of arteries) is probably an indication of the side effects that
endearing oneself to another causes. After all, it is through these improper
connections that we are literally sucked dry by others.
To reawaken to Respect allows us to cut through the cloud / spell of deception
that has given us the false romantic notion that it is not only desirable but
perhaps even our duty to allow ourselves to become bonded and subservient to
those who actively seek our destruction while pretending to have only "our best
interest at heart".
