Many People have a lot of (programmed) attachment to the need to be superior
to their "primitive" nature or ancestral origins and way of life [1] . Schooling and
society in general make sure to inculcate such thinking and need to distance
ourselves from our "roots". For after all, we are told, that is where the "root
of all evil resides" and it is only "culture and education" that allows us to
"rise" above it.
The movie "ThunderHeart" with Val Kilmer and Graham Greene is a fun way to take
a look at this.
