It is a common perception when one grows up in a religious environment, as I did, to acquire the perception that "God" is never changing, always the same. This leads to a great deal of stiffness and inflexibility. Without any room for growth, there is no room for the possibility that Father's Teachings of millennia past could be expanded and perhaps even superseded by Greater Knowledge He would make available.
Father has taught us that His Teachings and the way these teachings are Conveyed to various cultures, are culture specific as well as time specific. What was appropriate to know and understand 2000 years ago is no longer sufficient for this time and age. Many changes have occurred since then. The society we live in today is far removed from that of the past. The "logical" conclusion would be to think we are more "evolved" than the people of the past, yet in reality, upon careful consideration, you may recognize that we have been on a devolutionary path since the arrival of the unrighteous-unholy. We are 2000 years further away from Right Living, Right Thinking, and Right Manifestation of Father's Will and Intent.
At this point in this time and space, there is a need to grow in our Spiritual Knowledge and Expression while at the same time having to re-awaken to the Knowledge that we as the People once had. This can be perceived as very threatening to someone who feels safe in the stiffness and inflexibility of a "never changing God" whose instructions have been written down thousands of years ago to be lived by unto eternity.
To this Father would Say "you need not fear". He provides a strong foundation upon which to take each and every step. Father has explained to us that He does not expect anyone to step into the unknown in "blind faith". Father provides the Knowledge and Guidance needed to make sure we succeed in our walk with Him. He does not ask us to blindly / "faithfully" step into an abyss like Indiana Jones did in his search for the holy grail.
To step into the unknown in blind faith is the way of the unrighteous-unholy. This is what allows them to take us downhill even though we can see the peril of their ways. They tell us to believe in their false promises of paradise restored. "Have faith and embrace what we have for you, it is the progress needed to solve all the problems of the world" - chemical fertilizers and pesticides, industrialization, plastics, technology, nuclear power, genetic manipulation and enhancement, chip implants...
The fear / hesitation that surfaces upon consideration of what such future might hold is not an indication of "lack of faith or spirituality" or of a "backward mentality" as they would tell us, but rather a clear recognition that the direction in which we are being taken is not of the Father. Many can sense that civilization is stampeding us is toward a cliff. Recognizing death and destruction await at the end of the cliff is to have the eyes to see. Recognizing you do not want to be led to your death is not "backward thinking" or to be "primitive" in nature.
What will you do know that you can see? Continue toward the cliff while shouting "treason"? Look to the unrighteous-unholy for the next panacea / false promise? Look to their teachings and ways to find a way out? If their ways led to a devolutionary path in the past, why would that suddenly change? Hope a savior / alien shows up to save us?
Anyone who has seen a stampede knows that once it has started there is not much that can be done except to step aside.
Once you realize you are being led to the cliff and recognize you want to do it differently, the first thing to do is to stop and get out of the way. That is to say: step out of the madness. Calm down and, as Father has told us, "sit and pun". Ask the Father Which Is in Heaven to show you the Way and wait until the answer is clear. Then proceed in Peace.
