The refrain of a song I wrote some time ago comes to mind:
"I wonder, I ponder oh my good friend (repeat three times)
how things could be different this day my friend ?"
How could things be different... when we have been repeating the same patterns of glorified self-destruction for so many thousands of years?
Yes, the names are different, the tribes and countries changed their names, and people dressed and spoke differently in each age, but the insanity... well, it has never been overcome.
Be born, be abused, be deceived and coerced, be brain washed for your own good and your salvation, labor or slabor, sweat and pain, agony, apathy, educated ignorance, kill or be killed, marry and have children and then... well... lets do it all over again.
