A few days ago, I opened up a binder and found a study I made some time ago about the word "German".
Quite interesting if you ask me… but then again, I find my own writing entertaining and interesting so what can I say? Today I started re-reading some of my entries and next thing I knew I ended following one entry after another in Joyful Thank Giving for the information I was getting… several hours went by and I had to remind myself that my goal for today was not to read my blog for hours on end, but to make this entry ;)…
For this study I have used the tried and true method developed by Linda as described in "Dreams and Days - Diamonds of your Design"… a method I have used extensively on this blog.
So here we go:
Germane: [var. of german 1: cf to humane and human]
- German
- fig. closely related; relevant
German 1:
- sprung from the same father and mother
- genuine or true
German 2: [ L. Germanus; prob. from Celtic ] (note the connection to the Celtics which used to live on what is now Germany)
- of or pertaining to Germany, its inhabitants, or their language
humane: [ var. of human: cf. germane and german 1 ]
- having or showing the feelings befitting a man, esp. with respect to other human beings or to the lower animals
human:
- of, pertaining to, or characteristic of man
- natural to man
