The main character in this story is “god”. In this story “god” appears to be benevolent for all he does is good and is blessed by him, even male and female (who he created at the same time). In this story, there is no purpose to creation and neither is their a purpose for male and female other than to multiply, subdue the earth, and have dominion over fish, fowl, cattle, and every little creeping thing. Note however, that this “god” did not authorize killing in his creation, just domineering and subduing. So let's find out more about what this means.
Dominion:
- the power or right of governing and controlling
- sovereign authority
- control or influence
- a territory under a particular form of government
This tells us that male and female were meant to have authority, control, and influence over fish, fowl, cattle, and creepy things through establishing some kind of governmental system. Note that male and female were not told to have dominion over each other. This is to say, this system of governing or government was supposed to be designed to control only animals and creepy things, but not people.
Let's find out about subduing earth:
subdue:
- to conquer and bring into subjection
- overpower by superior force
- render submissive
- repress
- to bring (land) under cultivation
It is difficult for me to imagine that a “god” who blessed the earth in so many ways would at the same time turn loose male and female upon this very earth so as to tyrannize it, by conquering, overpowering, repressing, and yes, cultivating it. Something simply does not add up in this story. Note however, that all this subduing is meant to be directed toward the earth and not toward male and female.
Quite a purposeless and meaningless life if you ask me. Maybe this explains why after a while, some groups decided to classify other People as subhuman / cattle / things. With this convenient reclassification, these groups were able in their minds, to justify domineering and subduing others while claiming to obey the commandments given to them by their “god”.
That many upon this Earth worship this “god” of genesis 1 is quite apparent. That they have no apparent goal in life other than to domineer and subdue things / earth (just as their "god" told them to do) is also quite apparent.
Believe it or not, Father has shown Linda that the unrighteous – unholy actually use this logic to justify their actions against the People of this Earth. To them, we are inferior non-human animals which they are justified in domineering and subduing. That is faulty logic of course that does not pass the light of day. We must however recognize it to be so.
