Hope you In-Joy finding and receiving the many gems made available through this blog, but if the information presented here doesn't float your boat simply continue looking for greener pastures elsewhere. Your Peace and Spiritual Progression do matter.

Insufficiencies – An illustration

Yesterday, as Linda was going through some old archived magazines, I saw an issue of the “New Mexico Magazine” (June 2001) with the title “Horse Power” on its cover. So I picked it up and began reading an article titled “Spanish barbs”. What I read was so insane, that I thought it would make an excellent example of why, as Father has explained, “doing good” and “restoring the earth” are insufficient.

The article was about various isolated bands of wild mustang horses that had been roaming free for about 400 years in New Mexico, that is until one guy took photographs of them and decided he needed to verify the accuracy of a claim made by a rancher that these animals were descendants from the original Spanish horses brought by the Spanish to the Americas. This set in motion a series of events that included rounding these animals up, sucking blood from them for DNA testing, selling some of them off, and displacing some of them into secret preserves where they could “remain wild and breed”. Preserves which by the way would require securing 106,000 acres.

Why this madness? Here are some quotes from the guy in charge of all of this: “There’s interest now in trying to preserve things like that. And to preserve it, we have to identify it.” “Every day we loose a little bit of what our heritage is, but this is one way I know to preserve it.”

Never mind that these horses had been able to live free and wild on their own for about 400 years, that is until someone decided they needed to be identified and preserved.

Need more be said why “doing good” and “restoring the earth” are insufficient desires?
