Empty prayers don’t work
Not too long ago, one of the southern states affected by the gulf disaster issued a day of prayer in the hopes that a miracle would happen and the spill would be ended. Of course, this did not work. Empty prayers do not work. The only reason state officials choose to declare such a day of prayer was simply because everything else had failed and they simply wanted to avert disaster. They simply wanted self preservation.
This day of prayer was not born out of a Desire to embrace a Harmonious lifestyle with Mother Earth and Creation and to make the changes that would support such a choice, but rather was born out of the need to have things returned to normal so that everyone could continue with the same old destructive ways of doing things. The politicians want to continue scamming, taxing, and controlling. The fishermen want to continue taking from the ocean, the tourist industry wants to continue feeding on tourists, and so on. Where is the change of heart? Where is the recognition that perhaps it is time to make a change not only on an individual level, but also on a state level? Where is the Desire to Say Father we recognize our mistakes, please do show us the Way to correct them?
In a way this reminds me of the passage in the Book of Enoch, where Enoch tells the fallen angels of the consequences and penalties that will befall them for their crimes against humanity. The fallen angles didn’t recognize their mistakes, they didn’t ask for Grace for those they affected, instead, they simply asked for mercy and deliverance for themselves. At not point was there any indication that they would change their ways now that they had been shown the impropriety of their behavior. They simply wanted to be spared the consequences of their actions so that they could continue doing the same stuff.
Rather than looking unto “god” for a miracle and an easy way out, perhaps we the People should consider turning unto Father for Guidance and Direction, and then taking action to change our own lives as He Guides. Perhaps it is time that we the People turn unto Father not out of despair when nothing else works to prevent the consequences of our actions, but because we recognize our Desire to do things differently.
Father is not in the business of doing miracles. “Miracles” is what the unrighteous - unholy will do to try to fool us into thinking they are the “Holy Ones”. What good would it do to end the gulf leak only to allow everyone to return to a lifestyle that is so destructive to the Earth and the People?
Do we want change? De we want things to be different? Do we recognize our Desire to do things differently, to live in Peace and Harmony with Mother Earth and Creation? Then we must start on a personal level, one step at a time. Not by “going green” or becoming “sustainable consumers” as the world would tell us, but by stopping our participation in the game of the unrighteous – unholy, as the Father would Guide.
