This season, perhaps you may consider learning to receive the Abundance of the Father. His Abundance is Freely Given to be Freely received. No toiling, no laboring, no enslavement, no debt. Free all the time. Available all the time in Exchange for Thanks Giving.
Can you conceive of such a Life? Where you actually recognize the value of that which is Free and Abundant and allow yourself to receive it, rather than ignore or flat out deny it to yourself? Where the idea that value comes from the price you have to pay for something and the scarceness of its supply is recognized for what it is - an insanity?
One of the many initial teachings from Father to me was on this topic. To learn to receive and value that which He Provides, that which is Freely Given.
Look at the Abundance that Father brings to us through Nature, right in our back yards. Freely growing, Abundantly multiplying, and quite nourishing to the Soul and body. Can you recognize the Abundance of which I speak? Note quite? Would it help if I call this Abundance by its worldly term - weeds? Ah, now you understand. Those pesky dandelions, clovers, plantains, and so on people spend hundreds of dollars every year getting rid off to have that perfect green lawn...
Perhaps this season, you may allow yourself to learn the value of that which grows naturally and Abundantly in your yard. No, I am not suggesting you let your entire garden go "native", but perhaps you can find a little patch you can let grow more naturally. See what happens... what? You are afraid that if you let those pesky weeds go to seed they will infest your entire yard? What if it would happen?
Can you begin to recognize the patterns and fears that block your capacity to actually receive the Abundance of the Father?
Here where I live, there are many empty houses with yards that are minimally tended. Mowed only when the city issues threats of countles fines. It has been a most interesting experience to see these fields grow. The diversity and Abundance of wild food that is naturally made available if we would just allow ourselves to receive it. No toiling, no laboring, no tilling, no pest control. All growing vigorously and healthy. Linda and I have enjoyed dandelions, clover, and violets from our own little patch of Abundance.
Above is a picture of the patch. It is difficult to discern perhaps because it is early in the season and the clovers have not bloomed yet. But there it is. Each year I allow myself to let a piece of the yard grow more naturally. It is indeed very pleasurable to see it grow and bloom.
Below is a picture of one of the lots that is allowed to grow unattended and is mowed perhaps once or twice during the growing season. Eventually many plants in this field will grow to be 4 to 5 ft tall. In this patch of land I noticed that the shade of trees is always cooler and more humid than the shade provided by trees where the grass is kept short. Taller grass receives a lot more moisture from the morning dew and retains it much better, therefore, it is always greener than short lawns. I always enjoy watching the grass in this field dance with the breeze.
Next is a close up of the same yard. You can see dandelions and violet flowers. Clover leaves are also there. Were you to know about the benefits of these "weeds", you would probably say "yummy" and delight in the Abundance freely made available. There are many books available on the nutritional value of "weeds".
What I speak of this day, is the capacity to recognize and welcome the Abundance of the Father. The change in perception that is required to allow part of your lawn to grow naturally is indeed a step in the right direction. Whatever issues surface in this matter are probably the same that hamper your ability to receive Father's Abundance in your Life.
As you allow a patch of your garden to grow naturally, recognize the spiritual value of what you are doing. As within so without. As without so within. That is to say the environ-ment around you is an outward expression of your ment-al environment / attitude. A change to welcome the Abundance of the Father in the surrouding environment is preceded by an internal change to welcome His Abundance within.
