These books contain compilations of Mister's Blog - Valiant Dog. In-Joy.
Mister was Linda's and Martin's Great Pyrenees dog. He was certainly a very unusual and amazingly intelligent dog. No, you couldn't get him to do any of the usual dog tricks, except for sitting perhaps - but only when he was inclined to obey or it meant taking a ride in the van. Yet, he had a profound perception and capacity to not only comprehend but also augment what Father was doing with Linda and Martin. He was certainly a major Player in this Journey.
After a few years of observing Linda and Martin blog, he made it known to Linda he was ready to have his own blog. So Martin designed one for him ( using Mister's favorite color ) and Linda began translating Mister's messages into words Martin could type and post. Similar to what she would do with Father.
Now, one could argue it was all in Linda's head. That she was just transcribing some kind of alter ego / personality / aspect of herself which otherwise would have remained unspoken. However, it is the case that Mister undertook the monumental task of getting Martin to learn to transcribe his messages as well. Mister made it clear that to succeed in this task Martin would have to let go of his need to make up imaginary conversations in his head so as to pretend he could communicate with him. Every time Martin would accurately say aloud what Mister wanted said, Mister would provide visual confirmation. When Martin was off target, he would either remain unmoved or look toward Linda for help.
True or fiction ? Perhaps by reading his books you'll find out...
That a dog could be this creative is hard to imagine... leave it to Mister to break the mold
