In the trading of goods, Linda reminded me when she heard my last postings, that it is not necessary to receive in Exchange for goods only that which one needs. It is possible to receive in trade something we do not need, yet can be used in trade with someone else who does have a need for it.

Some time ago, I went to a local butcher to inquire if he was willing to trade meats for our fine art photography. At that time he was not interested but he did indicate it was not uncommon for him to trade with others who provided some kind of service, like plumbers or electricians.

Let’s say that a plumber would stop by and ask for an Exchange and that the butcher did not need any plumbing repairs of any kind. In this case, he could easily Exchange for future work should he have a future need or, he could use those Exchanged hours of work to go to someone else who does need some plumbing services and do an Exchange with that person using the traded “hours of work”.

Of course, this could be taken a step further. One could trade for something one doesn’t need but knows it can be used to trade with someone who knows he will be able to trade that very Exchange with someone else.

These examples simply serve to expand our capacity to receive in Exchange from the Father through others. The more People become receptive to receiving from the Father in such manner, the easier it becomes for Father to bring that which one needs.

Many times we have the idea that Father should simply “puff” things that we need into our reality, yet for the greater part, even though such is possible, Father does act through others who are receptive to His Will and Intent.

While it appears that there a very few People on this Earth that are receptive to His Will and Intent, Father has said that there are more than it appears. However, there needs to be the recognition that many times we have become blind to the fact that trading in even Exchange / Right and Proper Exchange makes it possible for Father to Bless each one who participates in the trade. Why? Because by doing a Right and Proper Exchange of even value, free of profiteering, one makes a choice for the Father Way. This brings us closer to the Father and increases our capacity to receive His Blessings.

Many years ago, the van we were driving developed some transmission problems. If I remember right it lost reverse. At that time we did not have the resources to fix the van so the suggestion was to find some used car dealer who was willing to trade a reliable vehicle for the van. That was quite an ordeal. The greed that is present in such business is unbelievable. Yet we were able to find one salesman who had his own old Suburban for sale in the lot where he was employed. In talking to him, we found out that his Suburban had been sitting in the lot for months and that he urgently needed the money from the sale. Even though the owner of the lot was completely against doing any kind of business with us, this man said he would be willing to talk to us later in the day. This gave us extra time to talk to Father about the Exchange. Father explained to us that while the Suburban was not for us, I should still stop by and talk to him. So I did.

To make a long story short, I met this man later in the day and we took the Suburban for a ride. During the ride I talked to him about making the trade and he indicated that because he had lived or worked in a spiritual community some time ago, he could recognize what I was saying and that therefore, he would make the trade even though he needed the money. Because his boss was opposed to helping us, he said we would do the trade after business hours and agreed I would wait for his call. When the call came, we heard a very apologetic man saying that his boss sold the Suburban shortly after he and I had taken it for a ride. He didn’t realize it, but that was exactly what was meant to happen. By choosing the Father, he allowed the Father to Bless him with the money he really needed.

During the time we were looking for a replacement vehicle we eventually stopped by a dealer who was willing to not only make the trade but give us some extra cash. He showed us the vehicles he would be wiling to trade for and I proceeded to inspect them. After making the choice for one, I took it for a ride and by the time I came back, the dealer had had a change of heart. He said that just as I inspected the vehicle and took it for a ride, he decided to crunch some numbers and came to the conclusion that the trade wouldn’t work for him. Needles to say, I was quite disappointed, but what amazed me more was that I was shown that this man’s choice for the unrighteous - unholy would literally cost him his left leg. Fortunately for him, in the course of our conversations, he eventually changed his mind again and decided that while he would do the trade, he would not give us as much cash as originally agreed upon. We checked with Father and accepted the trade. Several years later, I stopped by his dealership again, and was glad to see he was still walking on two legs. By choosing Father to the best of his ability, Father was able to Bless him.

This is all to say, when we trade in Right and Proper manner, equal for equal, we make a choice for the Father because we do not play the unrighteous - unholy game of greed and profiteering. This choice for the Father Way brings us closer to the Father and thus facilitates our capacity to be Blessed by Him.

This is perhaps the real value of Right and Proper Exchange: it supports our Spiritual Journey and walk with the Father by bringing us closer to Him and allowing us to receive His Blessing.

Every time we choose Right and Proper Exchange, we affirm our choice for the Father Way and by our very actions we say "we do not play, get thee away. Get thee away ends your play".
